Arabic and English brand identity sketches laid out on a studio table in Doha

What is Branding and identity at AI-DARE?

AI-DARE's branding and identity service builds brand strategy, naming direction, logos, visual identity systems and brand guidelines for companies in Qatar and the GCC. Every identity is designed in Arabic and English from the first sketch, so both languages carry equal weight on signage, screens, packaging, uniforms and print.

What you get

  • Brand strategy: audience, positioning, personality, tone of voice in both languages and a one-page brand idea
  • Naming support: name routes, Arabic and English pronunciation and meaning checks, and early conflict screening before legal clearance
  • Logo and visual identity: Arabic and Latin wordmarks, symbol, colour, typography, imagery and graphic devices
  • Bilingual brand guidelines with right-to-left and left-to-right layout rules, voice examples and do and don't pages
  • Rollout assets: stationery, signage, social templates, packaging, presentation and document templates

How it moves

  1. 01

    Discover

We start with your dare, the idea you have not said out loud yet. Then come leadership interviews, a review of your current brand and an audit of competitors in Qatar and every market you plan to enter.

  2. 02

    Define

Strategy on one page: who the brand is for, what it stands against, how it sounds in Arabic and in English. The creative risk is named and owned before any design starts.

  3. 03

    Design

We explore several identity routes and use AI visualisation to see them on real touchpoints early. You see one recommendation, argued, with the routes we rejected and why.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Final artwork, bilingual guidelines and rollout templates, organised and labelled. We stay close through launch so the first public appearance looks exactly as designed.

What does a branding agency in Qatar deliver?

A branding agency in Qatar should deliver a brand strategy, a bilingual visual identity and the rules for using it. At AI-DARE that means positioning, a logo with Arabic and Latin forms, colour, typography, imagery direction, brand guidelines and the first rollout assets your team needs on launch day.

Strategy comes first because every design choice needs a reason. We write it on one page: who the brand is for, what it refuses, how it should sound in each language, and the single idea that should be visible at every touchpoint.

The identity is then built as a system, not a lone logo. The system tells your team how to set a bilingual billboard, a 9:16 story, a menu, a uniform and a tender document without calling the agency every time.

In Qatar, signage, packaging and official documents usually need Arabic alongside English, so we design both scripts as equals from the first sketch instead of adding Arabic at the end.

How long does a brand identity project take in Qatar?

Scope sets the schedule. A focused identity for a new company moves faster than a full rebrand with naming, research and rollout across branches. The biggest variables are how quickly decisions are made, whether a new name needs legal clearance, and how many touchpoints must be ready for launch. Every phase is dated in our proposal.

A typical project runs in four phases: discovery, strategy, design and delivery. Discovery and strategy are short and intense. Design takes longest because we explore several routes before recommending one.

Approvals are what usually stretch timelines in the region, especially when a board, a family office or a government stakeholder signs off. We plan presentation dates around those calendars from day one, including Ramadan and the summer months.

How do you design a bilingual Arabic and English logo?

Design both scripts together instead of translating one into the other. The Arabic and Latin forms should share proportion, weight and rhythm while each keeps its own logic. Arabic reads right to left, sits differently on the baseline and needs more vertical space, so it can never be a simple mirror of the English.

We draw letterforms in both scripts on the same page. Arabic wordmarks are either lettered by hand or built on a typeface chosen for the quality of its Arabic, never as an afterthought to a Latin family.

Every lockup is tested where it will live: a shopfront fascia, an app icon at 16 pixels, an embroidered uniform, a stamp on an official document. A logo that only works on a white presentation slide is not finished.

We also check meaning. A name or a shape can carry an unwanted reading in Gulf Arabic, in another dialect or in English slang, and that is far cheaper to catch on paper than on a sign.

How do you choose a brand name that works in Arabic and English?

A strong bilingual name is easy to say in both languages, carries no awkward meaning in either, and can be protected. We develop name routes from the strategy, test pronunciation and meaning with Arabic and English speakers, then screen out obvious conflicts before your legal adviser runs formal trademark and trade name checks.

Some names should be transliterated, some translated, and some kept identical in both scripts. The right choice depends on the audience. A brand that deals mostly with government in Qatar may lead with Arabic, while an export brand may need a Latin name that still sounds natural written in Arabic letters.

We check spelling variants too. Customers in the Gulf search for the same name in several Arabic spellings, so a name with one obvious spelling helps search, social handles and word of mouth.

We support naming. We do not give legal advice. Trade name and trademark registration in Qatar go through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and we prepare the artwork and rationale your lawyer needs.

Questions, answered.

What affects the cost of a branding project in Qatar?

Cost follows scope. The main factors are whether you need strategy and naming or design only, how many identity routes are explored, the number of applications in the rollout, custom Arabic lettering versus a licensed typeface, and font licences for print and digital. We quote after a first conversation about your dare, not from a fixed package.

Do we need a full rebrand or a brand refresh?

If the strategy still holds and people recognise you, a refresh usually works: sharper logo drawing, better Arabic, a cleaner system. If the business has changed direction, merged, expanded across the GCC or outgrown its first audience, the strategy has to move first and the identity follows. We tell you which one after the audit, even when the smaller answer is the honest one.

Do you register our trademark?

No. AI-DARE is not a law firm. We screen names and marks for obvious conflicts, prepare clean artwork in the formats registries ask for, and work alongside your legal adviser. In Qatar, trademark and trade name applications go through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Each GCC country keeps its own registry, so your adviser plans filings for every market you trade in.

What files do we receive at the end of the project?

You receive master logo files in vector and raster formats for print and screen, colour values for print and digital, font details and the licences to purchase, bilingual brand guidelines as a PDF, and editable templates for every rollout item in scope. Each file is named, organised and labelled so your team or any future supplier can use it without asking us.

Do you use AI to design logos?

No logo is generated. Logos and lettering are drawn by designers so they can be owned, protected and adjusted with precision. We use AI earlier, to visualise how different identity routes might look on a storefront, a uniform or a campaign before anyone commits. Our rule is strict: generated imagery never carries text, logos or packaging.

Do you work with brands outside Qatar?

Yes. We are based in Doha and work with brands across the GCC, including Riyadh, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait City, Manama and Muscat, with reach into Beirut, London, Paris and New York. Workshops run in person in Doha or remotely, and every bilingual system is built to move between markets without losing its character.
